IWM’s B-52D entered service with the 28th BW at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, in October 1957. She made more than 200 bombing missions during the Vietnam conflict. On 8 October 1983, a 7th BW crew flew the B-52 to Duxford.
Back to Valentines Day 1987 and another 7th Bomb Wing B-52D, serial 56-0596 pcn BC285 which arrived in store May 1982 and was "eliminated" October 1993. Sadly I underexposed the photo so just a bit of grain on this one.

Back to 4th November 1989 and the monthly AMARC Photographers Tour, in the centre is B-52D pcn BC 284 retired to store May 1982 and 'eliminated' 1st November 1994 and scrapped February 1995. She was last operated by the 96th BW out of Dyess AFB, TX.
The 4th November 1989 and the monthly AMARC Photographers Tour, this was a line of B-52D bombers headed by one last operated by the 7th Bomb Wing. She entered store May 1983 and was 'eliminated' October 1993. Interesting to see a YC-14 in the background.
This was a B-52D pcn BC 302 last operated by the 22nd BW out of March AFB, CA. She was retired October 1982 when the 22nd BW converted to the new KC-10 Extender and became the 22nd ARW. She was scrapped December 1993.
Another sectioned BUFF from my 7th October 1994 AMARC tour. I did catch this chopped up B-52D forward fuselage however I was not able to identify her. A sad sight.

Continuing the tour of BUFF destruction on 8th October 1994, we move on to an area of B-52D and B-52G models. The guillotine has done its job well. The B-52G to the left is 58-0186.
