In November 1984 the German Air Force obtained 2 Su-20 fighters from Egypt. These aircraft provided Erprobungststelle 61 (the test unit) with a great opportunity to test Soviet hardware. Between 26 June and 21 October 1985 a total of 26 flights were made.
