85 Fighter Squadron badge on the portside of chin. The original “Lee’s Hope” had the artwork on both sides as well as a Vargas style pin-up on the starboard side of the rudder.
TFC staff applied a Vargas-style lady to the starboard side of White 17’s rudder, similar to the work of art seen on a number of war-time 79th FG Warhawks. The P-40F is piloted here by Stephen Grey.

TFC’s new Merlin-powered P-40F-15-CU arrived a few days before Flying Legends 2011. The aircraft is in the colours of Lt Robert J. Duffield’s ‘White 17’ (85th FS, 79th FG, based at Capodichino, Italy, February 1944).
