In '48, plane was re designated as QF-63G. Used as a "Pinball" flying target. Lights on the plane would light when hit by flangable 30 cal ammo. Plane is displayed at USAF History and Traditions Museum, Lackland AFB.
Assigned to DET9, 41ARRW. Assisted w/wounded S. Korean sailors after attack by N. Korean gun boat. In mid 60s, was 1 "FAC 251" of 6 loaded to Colombian AF. June '74, civil reg as N57996 to Francis Shield, Richmond, VA. Scrapped after '84.
"The High and Mighty One". Built as B-52A converted to NB-52A to carry/launch X-15. To AMARC Oct '69. Now on display at Pima, Air Museum. The horizontal lines are non-powered flights of the X-15, slanted lines are powered flights.
In Feb '96, as a float plane, it impacted water near Ashland, OR causing substantial damage but no injuries. Air worth cert. reissued Sept '96. Dec '99, reg as N690 to John Deal LLC or Yarrow Point, WA.
