Ultimate drag racer! The English Electric Lightning was undeniably one of the fastest point-to-point interceptors ever made and their inevitable retirement was a sad occasion. Fortunately XS904 is kept in ground running condition at Bruntingthorpe.

One of the stars of the 1993 Edwards AFB Open House was this C-17A which was on display in the static. She was the third C-17A constructed and at that time was operated by the AFFTC 412th Test Wing wearing the famous 'ED' fin code.

Ex USAF 52-1576, this Martin B-57B Canberra spent most of her career with NASA, attached to the Lewis, Langley, then Dryden Research Facilities. When photographed in store at Edwards AFB in October 1993 she was still configured for turbulence testing.

This rather battered looking Chinook was on display at the 1993 Edwards AFB Open House. Her JCH-47D designation marks her as a Temporary Special Test Prototype airframe. She also wore some interesting titling including what looks like 'Trash Can'!
