For over 25 years the SAR flight was equipped with the Alouette III as the SAR helicopters for the Dutch Air Force. In 1993 the Alouette was replaced by the more powerful AB-412 and the Alouettes were sold to Pakistan.
This red paint lasted just one day. Hours after the disbanding ceremony of Fliegerstaffel 2 the paint was removed again. J-4138 was wfu September 1993 and scrapped.
A wide array of fighters was present during Co-operative Key 1998. Behind the Viggens there are three French Mirage 2000C, four Czech MiG-21, two Rumanian MiG-21 and two Bulgarian MiG-21.
Nice surprise to the 2001 Co-operative Key exercise in Bulgaria was the detachment of the Swedish Air Force with freshly painted Viggen recce aircraft.
1995 brought a rare sight to Duxford: two airworthy Daimler-Benz powered Bf-109's. G-USTV is an original Bf-109G; D-FDME is a converted Spanish Air Force Ha1112-M1L.
Waiting for a buyer that never came. After being withdrawn from active service in 1984 Dutch F-104's were stored at Ypenburg waiting for sale abroad. This was never materialized. Eventually D-8281 ended up at the NlAF technical school.
After overhaul in 2001 L-29's of the Slovakia Air Force appeared in this attractive color scheme. The paint used for this job was a leftover from overhaul of Egyptian aircraft. In 2003 the L-29 was completely withdrawn from use.
