402 Squadron, 17 Wing, CFB Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. DeHavilland Canada CT-142 "Gonzo" of the Royal Canadian Air Force seen parked up at ICT during a stopover, and wearing colors to commemorate the squadron's 75th Anniversary.
Sitting in silence on the Duxford Airfield is this fabulous Vulcan. Now that she's outdoors, she offers a great opportunity to photograph her completely. What a beautiful bird.
The mighty Phantom sitting on the Duxford Airfield basking in the sun. I miss seeing those mighty fighters in the air, as you can really only see them regularly in Germany, Greece (you'll get arrested there), Turkey, Japan, and Israel.
This GR.4 wrapped up the Duxford show on Saturday, giving a spectacular display. This pass shows her all cleaned up, ready to light the afterburners and climb. You could literally almost feel the afterburners.
This GR.4 wrapped up the Duxford show on Saturday, giving a spectacular display. Here she lets it all hang out...down and dirty as it were, she shows off all her stuff. You could literally almost feel the afterburners.
A nice close-up of a Jag taxiing out to runway 22 at CLF for another mission out on the bombing range. Seen here being accompanied to the runway by Armée de l'Air 665, a Mirage 2000D from Nancy. The French pilots wouldn't wave back, unlike the Jag pilots.
Jaguar GR.3A from 54 Squadron seen returning from a joint mission with the Polish Air Force's Fitters, prior to being repainted in her 65th Anniversary at Coltishall markings.
Jaguar GR.3A from 54 Squadron seen holding short of runway 22 at CLF and pilot adjusting his helmet, prior to being repainted in her 65th Anniversary at Coltishall markings.
Two seat Jaguar moving out to runway 22 at RAF Coltishall for another sortie out on the ranges. Man what I wouldn't give to be along for a ride in something like that!
One of two two-seat Harriers to attend RIAT 2005 is this lovely black version in 899 Squadron colors, seen on the ramp just as you walk in from the red gate. What a well-maintained aircraft.
801 Squadron, RNAS Yeovilton, United Kingdom. British Aerospace Sea Harrier FA.2 seen here just prior to takeoff for a four-ship display at RIAT 2005, with its normally standard bolt-on refueling probe removed. Such a shame they've all been retired.
29(R) Squadron, RAF Coningsby, United Kingdom. Aside from a slightly subdued display thanks to a very close call the day before, it was still great to see the Typhoon in flight.
A fine example of Ejercito del Aire hardware seen on the RIAT 2005 static display line. Behind it can be seen a Danish Challenger, Greek RF-4E, German Atlantic, an RAF VC-10 tail and several others.
