I've always driven past the North Weald airfield, but never knew there was so much interesting stuff to be seen there. This G-2 Galeb, still wearing it's old Communist Yugoslav markings, sits covered and waiting to fly again.
The Merlin has proven to be extremely agile for such a large helicopter, as the RIAT 2005 display proved. Looking closely, you can see the Crew Chief enjoying the ride in the main door, and another crew member waving to the crowd from the aft cargo ramp.
From the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, seen here departing Duxford Airfield for the massive flypast over London and the airfield. Check out the guy standing in the doorway looking back at all of us in the field across from the runway!
815 Squadron, RNAS Yeovilton, United Kingdom. One of the Royal Navy 'Black Cats' display team seen during RIAT 2005 making a fast run past the crowd line.
Perhaps not the prettiest aircraft at Duxford, the Gannet is still a fine piece of Royal Navy history. That wing-fold is something to be reckoned with.
Patrulla Aguila performing for the RIAT 2005 crowd, and putting on an outstanding display! Many thanks to the Ejército del Aire and Patrulla Aguila for the great show!!
A very well kept Canadair Challenger of the Royal Danish Air Force takes part in the RIAT 2005 static display. The aircraft is used for Maritime Reconnaissance/Fishery Protection and VIP transport.
Taxiing back into the Whiteman AFB ramp after a very impressive display for the "Wings over Whiteman" 2006 airshow. Even the crew are getting into the action!
351st Air Refueling Squadron, 100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. This particular bird graced the Spy Corner with many approaches to runway 11 today, giving everyone several opportunities to get the shot we all wanted.
