Back in the day when I used to build models, I put together some Hasegawa 1/48 scale F-16s. The intake was really tricky to get shiny and smooth and took a while to get the static dis-chargers on the wings and tail to look right. I finally got them to look decent with some brass wire and a tiny little drill bit. Here's the pics, you can judge for yourself. My camera is not that great, so I couldn't get any close-ups of the cockpit or intake.

Anyone else build models? You can insert the pictures here. Upload the pictures to your Personal File Space (PFS) first. Read the FAQ section for more info, or send me a PM if you need help, it's quite easy.

Very nice build Ray. In the future if you use aftermarket parts, look into "seamless suckers" for the intakes. Saves a lot of headaches. Here a some photos of some of my builds. I can post more if you are interested.

Thanks Wayne. I built that model probably over 10 years ago. I haven't built anything in a while, so my stash keeps growing and growing. Someday I plan on getting back to bulding and eventually building all the 400 or so kits I have.

I'm not sure if the Seemless Suckers were around when I built that kit. Yah, it would've definitely saved me a lot of time. They look nice. I saw the one for the Phantom as well, and it's a beauty. Almost no other way to get a true seemless intake in the Phantom.

Your models look great. Sure, please post some more. Which kit is the Mustang?

The A model is the Accurate Miniatures and the D is the Hasegawa. Thanks for your comments. Only 400 models? You must be a youngster I hope to start building again some day. If I can complete 10 a year and I don't buy anymore, I only need to live to be 189 to finish them.

No, unfortunately not. Hopefully soon...

I've been buying a lot though. The new stuff coming out is just incredible. Loading up on the Tamiya F-4s.

Those Tamiya F-4s are pretty sweet. Since I am an E model guy, been picking up some Zoukei-Mura ones.
