Medium, multipurpose, utility helicopter.

The Westland WG-13 'Lynx' is produced in many variants, the most common a naval version for shipboard use. The British Army developed their own version of the Lynx as a replacement for Westland Wasp and Allouette II helicopters. The biggest difference being the use of skids over the naval variant's tricycle undercarriage. The latest variant of the Army's Lynx, AH.9, feature a wheeled tricycle undercarriage. In 1986, a Lynx attained an absolute speed record of 400.87 km/h (249.09 mph), which stands today.
