This picture was taken from the tower after the F-16 made a run over the targets at the Confield range. The reflection of the sun on the beach lights the bottom of the plane.
When returning from the Gulf region the French Jaguard appeared to be painted in a fresh light brown camouflage. This colours were retained for a couple of years.
It took quite a while, but after all the public had disappeared we were finally able to photograph the aircraft on the static of the Comiègne open house.
After the RF-4E was wfu and MFG 1 had been disbanded the former Navy Tornadoes were tranferred to the newly formed AG51. This new recce Tornado still has the Navy camouflage.
During 1944/45 16 sqn based at Melsbroek (B) repainted some of their recce Spitfires pink as this proved to be a better camouflage for low and medium altitude in the hazy European skies
In 1989 a few silver Mirages were still flying. This IIIBS trainer was one of those. This aircraft was later converted to Mirage IIIDS standards and reserialled J-2004.
After operational use this Whirlwind was used at the Halton School of Technical Training. As such it received the serial 8721M. Its original serial was retained however.
Road traffic is stopped to enable the Tigers to cross the Kantonalstrasse. Unfortunately this sight is over since Turtmann was closed in 2003. J-3089 now flies with Patrouille Suise.
The Fokker S-14 was the first purpose designed and built jet trainer. Overtaken by the Lockheed T-33 only a small series for the Dutch Air Force was built.
