I think the A-10 is pretty scary looking.
Take a look, I wouldn't want one of these flying over my head.

Okay so we have the front-runners. Not counted, anything with a painted on sharkmouth or any mouth for that matter.
What could be scarier from headon? Maybe Elin Nordegren coming at you head on with a 9 iron. |

The Ju-87 Stuka scare the hell out of a lot of people: the adition of sirens made it the ultimate terror weapon of its time (at least until it began to be shoot down of the skies).

I second the vote for the Mi-24, especially the Mi-24A;
Hind A Also, though, there are some designs in service, that are not scary per se, but come across as intimidating. Mig-31, is big and bulky like I imagine a werewolf or insane wild dog would appear. AH-64, I wouldn't want to have one of these looking for me either. |

Yeah I'm gonna go with the Warthog. That 30mm is not to be joked with.
AC-130 is right up there too |

I think that a lot of the 1950's era bombers looked pretty scary and the worst (or best!) had to be the futuristic H.P. Victor. She looked just plain weird with that bulbous crew compartment, crescent shaped wings and 'speed carrots' containing the landing gears. The Avro Vulcan was not too pretty either and I think if you were in the Eastern bloc and saw one of those flying at low level over your home to despatch nulear hell to her target that would be somewhat scary too!
Appears to be thinking... |

Quote If one of these was flying over your head, you'd more than likely be OK. Now...nose pointed at you, a different story. But I bet you wouldn't even know one was there until it was too late. They can sneak up on you, they're so quiet. |

No doubt Mi-24, when I was young, five of these machines was hanging over the road, after which I rode on my motorcycle. I stopped and we looked, to each other. After a while, I could not stand, turned and rode away.

All of the above. I'm really impressed with the D model B-52. With all the bombs on the wings and that big belly, that is scary. I read it could haul 108 750LB bombs.

I have to agree on the A-10. If I was the bad guy on the ground and it was headed my way.................................................................
